School Nursing Practice Goals:
- Reduce absenteeism related to health concerns
- Reduce or eliminate health problems that may impair learning
- Reduction and prevention of health problems through education
- Provide community education regarding health concerns among school-aged children
- Assist students to achieve their personal, educational, and professional goals
- Assist with referrals and screenings
School Nurse Guiding Principles:
- We believe that every child is worthy of educational opportunities that will allow them to reach their educational, professional and personal goals
- Every student is entitled to a level of health that permits access to educational opportunities
- Parents have the responsibility for the health of their children. Enterprise City School Nurses will work in partnership with parents in providing health services while in school
- The school nursing program will work with all departments within the Enterprise City School system and Alabama Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to ensure the health and
safety of the students, local community and the public - School nurses will serve as school health manager and a resource for health issues and concerns of students

- Education to teachers regarding health conditions of students

- Kelley Bear - Kindergarten
- Growth and Development - Grade 5
Health Screenings
- Scoliosis - Grades 5-9 (up to age of 14)
- Hearing - Referrals and New English Learners and Migrant Students
- Height and Weight - Referrals and new English Learners and Migrant Students
- Vision - Referrals and new English Learners and Migrant Students
